Sawariya (2007)

The word “Saawarirya” means beloved. The story of the movie takes place in a small Indian town. One day, Raj, an artist from Shimla, comes in and falls in love with the town. He finds everything his free sprited artistic mind has been looking for. Then on a starry night, he meets Sakhina at a bridge. Sakhina is a shy melancholic Muslim girl and Raj is a Hindu. However, religion could not hold them from falling in love with each other. The beginning of the relation is through friendship and gradually they are drawn toward each other but Sakhina has a past. When Raj comes to know about her life he falls into a serious mental dillemma.
